Issues with overlap/collisions not changing attributes

I have a couple of invisible 'checker' actors constrained to a player (platformer) to check if it is next to a wall.
'If overlap with platform: change .check left. (or right) to true, otherwise change to false.
Even after turning the constrain position behaviours on and off and the attribute still never turns to true... anyone else having this issue?
