Actors disappearing when moving off screen

Okay my actors are disappearing when my character is moving off screen:

Any reason why this is happening? I am pretty sure I have done this in the past and I have seen it done.

    I think that only happens if you use default actors with no images.
    If you use images for your actors it won't do that.
