Adding spaces in textbox 13.33

RCT_GamesRCT_Games Member, PRO Posts: 97

On the new version on mac I can't add spaces when typing in the display box's, it works in ones that were created before the update but not ones after. I also tried creating them on a new project and it did the same thing. Was wondering if I was the only one having this problem.

Do you mean from inside the expression editor? Alt+Space to add a space in there.

Yeah that's what I was talking about sorry, was that something new that was changed? Just seemed to always work with just space before that last update.

    Thanks

@RCT_Games, you've always needed to use alt+space when using the expression editor, at least as long as I can recall.

    Sorry for the double post

@QASalad So the space is working, but now if I just type one word no spaces hit the green check and preview my game it says invalid expression. It does the same thing if I type something and add a space. Then if I preview with a new display text and don't change anything it says hello world which is the default text. So not sure whats going on..

That's because you're using the expression editor. To use regular text in the expression editor, it has to be enclosed in double quotes "Like This"

@QASalad Thanks thats working, never used to open the expression editor when I would go to enter text. Defiantly makes sense though on why it was messing up.

    Thanks for the help

No problem. To be fair, it's not exactly the most intuitive thing in the world haha. Glad you got it working though.
