At what point do posts and tutorials become obsolete?

I have noticed that at times when browsing the forums here looking for help or just reading that some of the posts are very old. Some of the videos on youtube no longer work as features have been updated or removed, and the advice is well...useless. As moderators, do GS read and remove posts from time to time, or is everything here online forever? Just asking as some of the great articles and posts are well hidden or buried beneath a lot that are not so helpful.

remove posts? oh yeah these Mods are good at removing posts. Oh you meant posts with obsolete information and obsolete videos? Oh.. no no.. they don't do that. That would seem to much like work .. haha J/K. They do remove posts though.

It seems apparently not a feature of the Vanilla site to close automatically old threads..I personally would not want them deleted as I may need to search and find an answer from 4 years ago...but the mods do from time to time close threads after a comment has been made to an old thread. Usually someone will answer a question from 4-6 years ago. Lol. I can understand why they would. They are currently doing a lot of work to make most information "current". This is being done by not only GS but users as well...specifically tutorials.
