White background stuck on images! Oh no :(

so i drag and drop the buttons and the white square is still stuck behind it as part of the picture.
is there an easier way to fix that rather than like bringing it into a program and carefully erasing the white ? :s

In your drawing program try exporting as PNG. It will only save selected image not white background.

JPEG doesn't understand alpha. Google alpha image to learn what alpha means.

You want everything in PNG format.

If you just found image on web and JPEG with white background you will have to cut it out.

Don't just save it as a .PNG . There are various options for .PNG images, what you are looking at for your case is a 32 bit .PNG preserving the Alpha channel, otherwise you are going to get a background fill.
