misc questions ... Zoom, Grid, Timer

all apologies if I sound Really dumb. I looked for these things online and couldn't find what I needed specifically.
So.. here are some questions

Zoom
~ can I zoom in on the scene so I can see things easier ? I tried, but im pretty confident that im just stupid lol

Grid
~ is there a way to view the scenes in a grid view? to make it easier when youre lining up buttons and such?

Timer
~ For a game where youre just doing things, killing stuff, until you lose all your lives, and until then the timer goes up. So, seeing how long you can last.. a counting Up timer or whatever. That seems easy to do, but I could only find tutorials on how to make counters that work differently

Opening screen is gonna be 3 characters running in place and the background slowly scrolling by in the background, fades in from black and has some song on repeat, until you touch the screen. I think I know the tutorials necessary to do all that
but if theres something I should know, tell mee, would ya ? ;-)

If your using a Mac use the native OS X zoom feature.

There is no grid but DBA has a grid app that you can overlay over gamesalad or you can make a grid in Photoshop and use that in the scene.

For that kind of timer a simple way is to spawn an actor and display it's self time.
