Beta is available later today for developers. I'll be downloading it to see what level of support GS already has. I expect zero, but it would be nice to be surprised :)

i think it will come down to @BlackCloakGS to update the joystick support to handle the new remote, that i expect will be the biggest hurdle.

That would be great! While I'd love to have my games on that awesome big screen and being played on that sweet remote, I want faster load times and joints more. :D

I have to say that it's been the most exciting new lineup from Apple for a good while... I'm extremely interested in the game possibilities of Apple TV... and the iPad Pro, and the iPhone 6S are both just Wow...

Gonna be interesting to see how fast GS can respond to support for Apple TV and the new iOS features....

yea, but we've dealt with the load times and no joints for a long time now. if this is a quick update to get into a new store early, i think it would be worth the time :)

either way, it's exciting. I'm setting up a Yosemite virtual now so I can install Xcode 7.1 beta and take a look at the simulator

Hopefully GS wastes no time with Apple TV. But invests all resources in local and remote notifications, social media integration, desktop apps and desktop IAP. And WIndows, OSX and Linux export functions for Steam.

I agree those functions are important, but I'd rather get into a new ecosystem early than try and compete with millions of other apps in established stores. I can't imagine the Apple TV being a huge time sink.

I've said this in another thread but hopefully it's just a quick update as it seems Apple TvOS are basically using universil builds for games! Ie it works on iPad it works on TvOS landscape of cause,

But hopefully this will be a quick publishing side update ands as mentioned controller mapping!

Even Apple is planning for TV apps to be the next big thing. It would be nice to get in on the ground floor using GS.

That additude is...awesome....however that same comment about apple watch ended up being suprisingly negative as though we all just want to make a quick buck....i want to make a fun game...well built AND make lots and lots of quick bucks...new markets ...gotta strive to be numba 1. With the watch...before we knew it wasnt going to be feaible with GS...many of us wanting into a new market got hammered by negative comments against it.

If GS staff says it cant be done then I would not spend anymore time hoping. If however they say it can be done but choose not to then thimbs down to that IMO.

yea, I don't think it's an impossible task like the watch, the tvOS will support everything the iPad will since they will support universal apps. I imagine they just have to tweak the publishing servers to build against the new version of Xcode and pickup the tvOS SDK.

    Thats exciting to hear.

I admire the understandable optimism here but you don't just 'pickup' a new SDK. Although based on iOS, tvOS is a different fish. Don't confuse universal purchase with universal apps.

Lots of differences in the Frameworks and APIs.

Developing a game for iOS and tvOS will be cross platform development with each OS having a unique app binary.

@tmann thanks for the insight :) time will tell I guess, the news of the .exe possibilities have me more excited to be honest

Just got word from GameSalad and they DO plan on implementing Apple TV publishing in the future. However, no specific timeline is available and they hinted that signing the feature request below would influence how quickly this is rolled out.

    Hey everyone!

I want to clarify that we are looking into this, but have not made any official decisions about implementing Apple TV publishing. Our focus is still on our current fixes and feature requests.
