I'm struggling to find out how to optimize my game for iPad. Do I need to make a seperate app or I have to do something with my existing game? Please help!

What do you mean optimize for iPad?

Like adjust for a larger display (changed UI, button size) but without affecting my "code".

I posted something, but it was just another rant explaining how questions like this, that make so little effort in communicating the issue, make the job of trying to help so difficult, I often type these things out, then realise I am just going over old ground, so I decided to delete the post . . . you can't actually delete posts, but you can edit them, but you also can't leave them blank, so I just type in three dots as the full-stop key is directly beneath my right hand.

If you have already made your app and need to convert it to iPad, the easiest way in the short term is probably to just make a new copy and manually do the repositioning of things. A more long-term solution is to use a method like BBEnk's universalisation method, but there are a few methods and there's just no way to know which is the best one without seeing your game.

As @Socks said, the more information you provide the better. Your question as it is is akin to something like "My football team lost the last game, how can we win the next one?" Sure we can give general advice, but very little is going to be really helpful unless we know the specific situation of your team.

And @Socks, I've mentioned it before but it's worth mentioning it again - an ellipses can come across really sarcastic. I'd strongly recommend you swap to three other characters to avoid this confusion. Your ... posts often sounds like you're saying this:

(If that's your intention then never mind :P)

I can't see that myself, I can't see how three dots would equal sarcasm, they are not simply sarcastic, but really sarcastic !? Where is the irony in three dots !? I suppose ultimately people will read whatever they want into these things, regardless of what you type in, type a forward slash or couple of capital Bs (BB) or a line of commas (or anything so as to allow you to delete a post) and someone, somewhere will interpret it as offence ! :D

Oh yeah, and to anyone who disagrees with me . . . . 'GGG'.

You demonstrate it yourself in your post. An ellipsis is often used to denote a pause. In internet terms it has come to represent, when used on it's own, when someone tilts their head, looks over the top of their glasses, and says "Seriously?".

Take a look at the 2nd and 3rd definitions in particular: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=ellipsis (some naughty language on that site)

That's what I thought at first too! @Socks I understand you though

Not at all, I am not demonstrating sarcasm when I place dots between sentences, I am seperating out ideas. I still don't understand how three dots can come across as 'really sarcastic' ! I really think a lot of this stuff is often in the mind of the reader.

Not noticed that myself, but I'm happy to take your word for it.

Like I say people will take offence at pretty much anything, it's pretty much impossible to navigate the internet without someone wanting to be offended at something not intended to be offensive.

The 2nd and 3rd examples don't seem relevant at all given that they come with a very obvious context.

This conversation is slightly ridiculous ! Maybe there should be an agreed symbol for a deleted post, but first we will need to run it by the United Nations, the heads of all the major religious groups, representatives of all the major demographic groups, sexual orientations and ages (I can see the over 70s being an issue) to make sure no one is going to be offended by a certain symbol or grouping of letters.

I'm going to propose this: //

Although that does look a little but like someone sticking two fingers up !

You never sent anyone a text so stupid that they've just replied

    ...

    ? :D I know I have!

And I don't think anyone really thinks you mean to be offensive, and you're not really being offensive, but as you've seen it does confuse some people. // seems like a good compromise! And even better one would be for people to be able to delete posts if it's still within the editing window, and isn't the thread starting post.

I've not, not that I've not sent stupid texts, just that I've never come across '...' as a reply.

'//' it is then ! Although I can almost guarantee someone will probably take offence

It was only after my own ceaseless pestering that we are now able to edit posts, for a long time I argued that a forum aimed at commnuicating - essentially - technical information is much more effected by errors than a purely conversational forum, so you'd quickly post a reply to someone, later notice a mistake, and be unable to change it, your mistake forever broadcasting the wrong information to new forum users. But like you say it would be even better to be able to simply delete a post (say, within 10 minutes) if you'd decided against posting for whatever reason.

The only reason to prevent us deleting posts is so that mods and admins can look at what the post said before it was edited. If they can see deleted posts too, then there is no reason.

And I'm glad you pestered. I edit my posts to correct things from spelling to incorrect assertions all the time. There's no way I'd bother posting on these forums if there was no ability to edit posts. It annoys me enough that the edit window is so short.

There's no need for that kind of language.
