Great site for promoting upcoming iOS games, Jump Jack featured

Hey guys not sure if many of you are aware of appadvice.com's new Gaming Soon page: http://appadvice.com/trailers
Great place to promote games, lets users up vote games. I think the layout and design is pretty slick. I know they pick and choose what goes on their, and they are looking for higher quality games. So probably not for people just making smaller titles, but I believe many of the bigger projects being made by users on these forums could do well there.

Jump Jack recently got featured http://appadvice.com/trailers/jump-jack we're pretty pumped. Even got a banner at the top of the main page.

Thanks for the tip @RossmanBrothersGames, and congrats! Do you have an official date for release? On a side note, which type of twitter account do you think is best for promoting game before release (personal vs. developer name vs. game title)?

We formed Rossman Bros Games LLC last week and I just applied with apple today to get my individual developer account switched over to a business then we will submit our game. If all goes smoothly probably the first week of October.

As for twitter promotion, I believe people enjoy more interacting with a personal connection. I primarily use my real name, and in the process have got to know some cool people, players, other developers, editors. I personally enjoy connecting with people and don't just view my interaction as only promotional, and I think using your personal account brings that across.
I also have a RossmanBros twitter that I basically just use to retweet post about my game and such. I think you want to have both.

This can also depend on your company/developer name. My brother and I are two people, so Rossman Bros Games isn't a very personal identity. However some people build relationships under their developer alias when they are a one person team. In that way your developer name can be personal.

  • Also, if you're looking for more insight in promotion, here is a recent talk from the Chief Editor of Touch Arcade, I found it helpful: https://realm.io/news/altconf-eli-hodapp-making-an-indie-game-do-your-own-pr/
