The 15 day trial is dead. Long live the 15 day trial.
So... for many of you, the 15 day trial was not enough. We agree, not everyone has two solid weeks to appreciate the full awesomeness of GameSalad. We heard you, and we decided to reset all the trials and give you... a 15 day trial!
Wait, what?
Well this one is different. You get to use it for 15 individual days!
So maybe you can only work on weekends?
You get 7 whole weekends to try GameSalad!
You only have time to learn GameSalad on Taco Tuesday?
Well you get 15 days of tacos to learn GameSalad!
So if you haven't paid for an upgrade yet, like all of the cool game devs, you can continue where you left off on your http://learn.gamesalad.com/ tutorial and see how awesome GameSalad is.
Cheers!
Update 09/18/2015: No, we will not send you 15 days of tacos with your trial.

Long live the 15 day trial!
Nice move. Let's hope it results in more subscriptions.

A great change and a very fair system! For something that for many will at least start off as a hobbyist endeavour, it's excellent to see a system that accommodates people's free-time schedules rather that putting them on the clock!

Great, It seems like a much more workable system. Nice job!

So does it count down as a timer or does it count it as a login for the whole day?
Fortuna Infortuna Forti Una
We count for each day you log in.

THANKYOU!!!!
I think this will make many more converts to Pro.
Now, what about 365 days of logins for my $299?
Great move to a more relaxed trial to fit the users schedule.
MUCH BETTER! MUCH BETTER!
I applaud you for the change! I think that is a big step in the right direction! Well done gentlemen!
Much better than the old 15 day trial.

Now that right there, was a friggin' smart and fair move! Well done!
Yes! lol
Noice.
Nice!
One question:
Is this strictly calendar days?
Let's take two examples. User A has free Saturdays, so he puts in 8-10 hours each Saturday playing with GameSalad to get to know it. At this pace, he will keep on going for 15 weeks, and will put in 120-150 hours.
User B also uses GameSalad on Saturdays. He usually sleeps in, is busy during and in general he is a night owl; finds it easier to work evenings and nights. He usually fires up GameSalad around 9PM and keeps on working until about 3AM, putting in about 6 hours of work getting to know GameSalad before dozing off to sleep.
Will each Saturday consume two days of User B's trial, giving him only 45 hours of testing GameSalad before his trial runs out? Even if he was able to start earlier and put in the same 8-10 hours each Saturday, would he end up with only 60-75 hours to test?
Not complaining here. Just trying to clarify, so that users know whether to keep track of time and turn GameSalad off before midnight, if they know they won't be able to use it the next day?
Most systems like these count calendar days you are logged in. Otherwise it would be a 360 hour trial

I think I can clarify. As of today, if you use the tool for 15 minutes in a 24 hour period then a trial day is consumed.
How is the start of the period defined? By the first login?
If I started working in GS this evening, and go twenty minutes past midnight (but don't use GS at all tomorrow during the day), it will take just one day away?
Thanks!
Yup
Even more amazing and user friendly! Great move by all involved!
@adent42 so 15 x 24hour blocks
A better move but personally free until publish would be better. Or a pay as you go monthly sort of situation
I think the data showed that the majority of people never published, lots of people experimenting, learning how to code, trying out cool stuff, making games, slideshows and other fun stuff to show their friends, but no real desire to publish or sell their apps.
Perhaps not unlike someone buying a pad and a pencil, hours, days, weeks and years drawing images, improving their skills, showing their work at school or to their friends and family, but no real desire or intention to sell their drawings (this is true of the majority of creative hobbyist activities). So in this situation the analogy would be for the pad and a pencil manufacturers to give their pads and pencils away for free, but charge a fee when the users sell their work . . . . which - with the overwhelming majority of hobbyists never intending to do anything other than use the creative tool to have fun and create cool stuff for the sake of it - would eventually put the pad and pencil companies out of business.
That's what we have now, you can pay monthly if you want.
Thanks!
Very good first step in returning back to normal marketing of this great ( AND FUN! ) product.
Now just return free basic version please and you'll be on top of my list again.
