How long does apple take to approve an app? Its been 5 days now. Google PlayStore did it so quick. Any one has an estimate of some sort?

Currently 7 days.

Reason for this is because with Apple, the app is actually checked out by a real person before it's approved.

my first app took a week, then got rejected because i made a small mistake, i contacted them, re uploaded the app and after 2 days i went online
my advise: make 100000% sure your app works perfectly, otherwise it only takes more and more time.
even if it is approved, it might take about max 2 day's to show in the App Store.
Ive have it take 21 days before. I currently have 1 in the queue and another just reviewed. The one that just went live took 9 days and this other one is now 11 days in the queue so its currently longer than expected as they were submitted a day apart. You will most likely find a lot of Halloween apps are being submitted ready for the holidays.

Usually 1-2 weeks. It is reviewed longer if your App has ads and 3rd party links. If you got rejection + 1 week if you resubmit. Updates review are 3-7 days.

Review times are about to increase at least temporarily, I'm guessing, based on today's news.
