Stuck as a Prototype

in Working with GS (Mac)

I am stumped.... my main actor and other actors are all stuck as prototype... how do I on lock them...I see no options......

    Place the actor into the scene - and then double click on the actor - this will give you a massive lock icon (truly enormous) click on it.

    That is what I thought...but I can not even place anything on the scene

    ok...i did a restart....it is working now
