Beta testing

Hi, I have uploaded my app to iTunes Connect and they have approved my app for external beta testing. The status has changed to "ready to test". Bu when I click on start testing, it changes to done but the status doesn't change and my external testers haven't received an email.
Anyone know what the problem could be?

The Testflight section of itunesconnect seems to be experiencing major issues at the moment. See the forums: https://forums.developer.apple.com/community/distribution/testflight
