Do AdMob and Chartboost work in non-google play store?

So I found out almost all my games are now available on so many other android app stores besides Google Play and Amazon app store. This is without my consent however.
What I would like to know is this:

Do the adMob and Chartboost ads work when the games are downloaded off these rogue sites?

What I fear is that the people who put up my games on those stores might have changed a few things in the game binary such that the ad traffic will go to their account instead of mine. Is this possible??
