Splash Screen orientation problem

ChechesoftChechesoft Member, PRO Posts: 171

Hi, anybody have a solution for this?:
The splash screen rotates when the game starts (in iPhones and Android phones, but not on iPads) , even when selected only one supported orientation in the publisher... Its kind of frustrating, as is the first impression for my users...

Noticed this too. I have a Landscape only game but the splash screen starts in portrait before quickly changing to Landscape.

Also noticed this with Booger Boing...However, I'm unsure how to fix this!

What orientation is your game?.. and what orientation is your splash screen?

I've found that if my game is landscape - using a portrait splash works well (GS rotates it, and crops to fit) . If I attempt to use a landscape splash it ends up looking wrong (because GS rotates it 90% also).

Ipad I use a landscape splash.

I'm not a pro, and you may have figured it out, but I heard someone say that you just need to use a black image for your loading and then do a splash screen in your scene.

This started being a problem roughly around the time of the 1.0 release I think.

I've noticed it with pretty much all GameSalad apps published lately (and I played quite a couple as part of the GotM panel).

This is the splash screen that shows when playing Booger Boing on my iPhone 6 Plus.

@8bitninja yeah... I did an update a few days ago without noticing that my pro subscription was over... :S I am waiting to upload a new update as soon as my new pro subscription activates. Having my game live with this splash screen ia drivong me nuts!
But the rotating splash screen problem still exists regardless this issue.

Its important for Apple and our users to show something besides a blank screen while the game is loading...
