Hi @digitalzero There's plenty of different software around for recording video/screen.

Personally I use Movavi Screen Capture Studio (and can recommend it) .

@digitalzero I would have to agree with gryo here that there are many different softwares for recording your screen. I may not be able to give the best suggestion as I haven't worked with screen recorders on Mac (as I run my mac on windows only) but from a quick search for good screen recordings I see the software ScreenFlow would work.

A good thing about ScreenFlow is it would allow you to record a specific region on the screen. So recording from Gamesalad you'd have a perfect view of the game without having to crop out gamesalad in the editing. Though it'd be a good idea to keep your commands to keyboard so you don't have the mouse showing on the video.

There's always Quicktime as well that can full screen record. I haven't tested the quality of Quicktime's recording, but it would require cropping of the video during editing. But this is a free method for Mac's.

I recommend you to check Camtasia screen recorder from techsmith.com

If you are on a Mac, QuickTime can record directly from your device via USB/Lightning cable. It's free. No need to buy and quality is great. You can also choose if you want to record game sounds or mic.

You can select an area to record using Quicktime's screen recording function.

Yep, with iPads from the iPad 4 onwards (basically any iPad with a Lightening connector) the output resolution is 720p, the earlier models 2 and 3 can output 1080p for capture.

The other fact to throw into an emerging venn diagram is that the iPad 3 was the first iPad with a Retina screen . . . so with the iPad 2, although the video output was capable of 1080p the device itself wasn't as it only had a 1024 x 768 px screen . . . so that leaves the iPad 3 as the only device capable of outputting 1080p via its 30 pin connector !

I use Recordable on android. No Root required. There is a free version if you'd like to try it first.

This trailer is an example of the quality.
