What is the correct way to convert GS projects between Windows and Mac?

I copied the game file from my Macbook to SurfaceBook (That's a nice GPU btw), it can be opened, but some of the texts doesn't display correctly but shown as rectangles, so how do I fix it? I didn't try to upload and download it via GS server yet, will that help?

Did you use the Export function to create the save file you ported over?
Do the rectangles correspond to line breaks or tabs?

Yes for windows there is a "export" function but I can't find it on the GS for mac.
Sorry for the confusion, those charters are non-English such as Japanese and Chinese.
I didn't have trouble on this 1 years ago when I was doing the same thing but convert from my PC to Macbook.

You don't actually need to convert anything, it should just work. The only thing export on Windows does is make sure the folder is named whatever.gameproj so the Mac will recognize it as a bundle. You could do that step yourself or just always name your Windows projects that way and it should just work.

As far as displaying foreign text it will really depend on the font you use. If the font doesn't have a glyph for a particular character you'll see the blank box. Your best bet for those to work on Windows 8.1 or lower is probably American Typewriter which maps to Mincho on Windows and should contain most glyphs. Unfortunately Microsoft removed that font on Windows 10 so you'll end up mapped to Arial which might work ok but there are a few different versions of it so the one with the expanded set of glyphs may not always be installed.

Custom fonts will give you better options as you can just use the same font on all platforms but we're working on fixing a couple of physics issues in 1.24 before we can move to 1.25.

Thank you for the detailed reply.
When I was on my Mac, I use Arial (Actually no matter what font you use it will always display but no change in look) and it works perfectly fine. On Windows Creator it doesn't do the same thing. I'll install some fonts which probably resolve the issue to see how it works.
Just to make sure, is this my windows problem or a creator problem?
If I can't fix it now, I think I'll need to wait for 1.25 and install the foreign fonts to solve this.

FYI: I use both Windows and Mac and have no problems using fonts.

Publish the Project to GS and download it on the device that you want to work on. It works fine for me.

Thank you guys, Microsoft YaHei solve the problem. But I don't know if any day I import the project back to Mac, will I need to change everything over again?

The good news is pretty much all of the fonts on the Mac should have all of the glyphs you need, so if you use YaHei on Windows and then copy that project to the Mac it won't use the same font, but it maps to a font that works. The bad news is you can't actually choose YaHei on the Mac, so you'll need to do that part on Windows.

The Windows font situation is complicated, you generally only have fonts installed that support the primary language unless you install other language packs, and even then it can depend on what other products you have that may have installed fonts. I assume they did that to save space, but on modern computers it's a really tiny savings.

We're hoping that 1.25 will help quite a bit with that because you will just end up using the same font on Windows/Mac/devices so if what you're using has all the glyphs you need you'll be all set.
