Can you "scratch off" an image with GS

I want to create a scratch card, where the surface that is "scratched" is an image (i.e. not a solid block). Does anyone know if this is this possible with gamesalad?

The closest I could find on the forums was this http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/74041/is-it-possible-to-use-game-salad-to-make-scratch-card-game - but this doesn't really achieve what I want to do as it only works by "removing" a solid colour to "reveal" another solid colour.

That's the best demo I know of. I suppose with custom collision shapes and a ton of spawning, you could create something that would work but it'd be a lot of effort.
