How do I take a screenshot in my application?
That function doesn't exist in gamesalad. :-/

Next point then.Why the hell not! In this world of social media and free sharing, why is this not possible?
Probably because GS has other priorities like custom fonts, faster loading times, video reward ads, etc.
It would be a very welcomed feature though.

Screen shots yes. Selfie or access to the camera is a no.....
I get that the camera is not an option. But offering a snapshot (as opposed to the hardware option) would be a nice touch for certain apps. It helps to spread images from the app..
I've added it as a request if anyone else would like to see it..
