question about templates

I was looking at these templates (http://gsanimator.com/) but before buying something I'm unsure about a couple of things: can I look at the code of a template to see how the game logic works (so I can learn the ropes) and can I change the assets (like graphics, sounds, animations) in a template? I asked them but they gave me an ambiguous answer (something like 'you can change the code with drag and drop behavior').

Templates are no different from any other GameSalad project file. People just choose to call those files "templates" because they are partial or complete games or other useful systems (e.g. high scores, network behaviors, etc.).
