SPLASH SCREENS

Who was the one that offered to give people their own splash screens if we paid? I remember there was a post about this but I can't seem to find it. Im interested in putting my own splash screen for my next app and i don't want to pay for a pro license so i guess this is my only option...

    I was the one who offered but Gendai broke my method in one of the releases after that. I have had a Pro member or 2 offer to change the splash and add iAds & URLs though. Seems like the going rate is $25-$50 per game...

    Edit: Gendai admitted to me in email that their TOS did not limit "editing" (read: hacking) previously compiled packages, but that they would be adding more restrictions to the TOS in the future. On a brighter note, so far, they have said nothing about Pro's offering stuff like this a "service"...which is what I would prefer to rely on anyway.

    Think about it - you are essentially getting this resource for free ($100 / year is easily made back on your first app and if you can't, you're doing it wrong). But, in order for the resource to remain useful, it needs to be updated and maintained. This costs a significant amount of money and requires a team of people. By depriving GameSalad revenue you are shooting yourself in the foot.

    The basic license is essentially Gendai paying you $1900 / year to advertise on the splash screen of your game. Not that bad of a deal if you think about it. Why not let them get exposure to help build the community and fund further development?

    Maybe its crazy talk, but it makes sense to me.

    Honestly, if it were really that bad...Gendai would have said something by now.

    Also, any graphic designers out there that has used their copy of Photoshop Extended to do work for people that only had a copy of the regular Photoshop or Elements should be prepared for some really "bad mojo"...lol

    This is part of the purpose of a "pro" tool...

    No! ...lol Just for fun. Your av is the first thing I thought of when I saw FMG's demo... ;-)

    To get back on topic, you could use it as your "splash" screen once it's done... ;-)

    Maybe better to petition the GS folk and see if they will reduce the PRO fees if a large member force will upgrade. I personally think if it was $899....a lot of folks would switch.....
