Realistic car crash

Im having trouble making a realistic car crash, e.g. if one car hits the side of another at the back, it slides out slightly. The only thing I have managed so far is either one of the cars flying off of the screen or both just spinning for ever.

This is from above by the way.

I haven't played around much with the physics engine but to solve your cars flying off screen, you could try having invisible "Wall" actors. Uncheck "Moveable" under physics so that the walls don't move if cars hit them. Then in the cars, set a collide behavior with the wall. You may wanna adjust the Restitution to your needs. In case you didn't know, Restitution affects bounciness of an object when it collides with another. Lower Restitution = lower bounce. Max is 2.

For the spinning part...I don't know...the veterans can answer that.

Thanks, the restitution fixed the problem of it flying off of the scree (had it set to 2, now 0) but there is still the problem of my actors spinning when hit on a corner.

Play around with the drag attribute of the actors. On collision, you can increase it with a timer or interpolate. It should slow it down

I can stop it forever but I want it to rotate a little if another car crashes into it.
