Has Anyone Tried Selling A Desktop Version of Their Game?

If so, how did you do it? And was it successful in ANY way?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking of expanding beyond just the iDevices and onto the Mac desktop as well.

One reason for this is because, let's be honest here, keyboard and mouse = WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more control options, and thus gameplay options, than the iDevices. Plus it means no need to clutter the screen up with things like digital joy sticks, and it pretty much removes all worries about file size issues. You can make the game as big as you want it to.

Plus with Steam now on Mac, Man desktop gaming is getting a revival of sorts that hasn't really been seen since the days of Bungie's Marathon titles.

Yeah, I've thought about it too but GS is WAY too limited with desktop options. Can't even hide the mouse (or can you?!?!?!), not to mention no USB support... it seems Gendai are really focusing on the iPhone, which is cool but it'd be nice to have a few more options for Mac builds.

We should start a post with loads of behaviors we would like to inspire gendai.

I've thought about branching out to Mac games as well. It would be nice to hear from someone who's tried it.

I'd use Game Factory from Sawblade Software if i was making Mac desktop games.

That's been discontinued, hasn't it? I had it and it was very limited... pretty much side-scrollers only.

EDIT: My mistake, it still exists. Still a lot more limited than GS, though.
