I think it would be a really good idea if GS could give us add-ons for out accounts so that we don't have to pay $2000 for pro. Because personally, I don't really care about iads i mostly just want an own splash screen and in-URL forwarding. So why don't they just set up something like you can buy those features individually like splash screens alone for 300 dollars a year and in-URL forwarding for 200 a year? Please take this into consideration Gendai!

I think an "A La Carte" Membership would be a great idea for those of us who only want specific features like URL forwarding etc. Great idea!

I'm not quite sure if this is illegal, but if someone posts a game with a URL in the game that works, is it illegal to copy that behavior from their game and change it to your own URL? Probably is... But if the fines for doing it are less than $2000... JK!

Oh. Didn't even think of that. How smart of them. (Or not so smart of me.)

They could also try to keep it in proportion with the $2000 so they're still making a lot because people would most likely buy more than 1 feature. For example, if pro users have 20 more features than express, they should make each feature $100. That way if someone buys all the features it adds up to $2000.

Maybe also a one off fee for a single game? Like the idea.

@RH, wouldn't like that unless it was at a very low price. Maybe $50 per game you make with all pro features included. If one person makes 20 apps for $50 per app that's already $1000. Sounds ok but I like the yearly payment for unlimited app making

I think it would all get too complicated to be honest.. They simply can't accommodate to what everyone wants, just not possible. Some people may think the fee is too much but it's up to them to put a price tag on it as they are selling it. People who think it's too expensive won't buy it, but people who value the extra features will.

It is possible to make 10x the amount of a pro membership in a day with a very successful app. I think the price is right and will get more valuable in time with extra features. After all, the $99 license is called Express for a reason. Simple features.

tshirtbooth said: I would like a credit system. So you buy X amount of credits then when you go to publish the system checks what features you used and then comes back with " we will be deducting X amount of credits to publish this Title" do you accept? That way people who only want to make 1 or 2 games can do so with out shelling out a bunch of cash.
Kind of like a pay as you go plan? Compared to the PRO license which is like an unlimited mobile phone tariff?

Or just drop the "pro" price to be more inline with other dev kits. Jesus, Torque is NOWHERE NEAR 2 grand! You have to code with it though and while Gendai have the monopoly on GUI-based game dev, I'm guessing the price will stay the same.

Interestingly enough, though... there is a little tidbit of information on the Corona website that suggests they may be bringing out a GameSalad competitor. From their FAQ:

"What if I have never written any code before?

You should still download the trial and try it out. You'll be surprised at how easy it is. We also have other products in the works that are designed specifically for non-coders, so once you register, we'll be able to let you know what's coming and invite you to try out our latest innovations."

Competition is ALWAYS a good thing for the end user ;)

I actually hate the idea of a credit system. I still want to have to pay yearly for unlimited apps, and just to add individual features for less of a price.
