Rule Based on Table Value

I'm going to be "That Guy" and ask a question that I'm sure has been asked a hundred times (although I can't find it for some reason).

My Player Character's HP is being stored in a table cell. I want the "GM" of my scene to process a "Game Over" when that value hits 0. For the life of me, I can't seem to figure out how to set up a rule condition that listens for a table value. Do I really have to store the table value in a Game/Scene/Actor variable before I can use it in a rule condition?
