trying to replicate double doors opening downward when actor button is pressed and doors swing back upward and close when actor button is released

  • is pin and COM the way to do this?
  • also, wondering how to get doors back to original position

Thanks

P.S . . . in my humble opinion COM + PIN is a little buggy, it doesn't play well with a lot of GS behaviours, you might be better off using double length actors, with only one half being visible, then you can use simpler and more reliable rotation based behaviours.

    Hope that makes sense !

appreciate it ... tried this and worked great (visually)

only problem i'm having is sometimes the actors aren't registering my collide behavior (i set the collide in both as well) ... i would say over 50% the doors catch whatever drops if shut, sometimes the other actors just fall and pass right thru when the doors are closed. is that some of the buggy behavior you were referring too?

    thanks!

    Try checking 'better collisions':

Excellent for those off centre objects that need collisions. Thank you boys..
