Social Share - Share Your Game Attributes Socially - Replaces Tweet Sheet

Since GameSalad has not expanded their current tweet sheet to work on Android or Facebook. I developed a work around for this. I have been using a work around for this for a while and after reading that a few of you also want this feature, I thought I would share this with you.

What this project can achieve:

• Post High Scores
• Post Download URL of your game
• Post text
• Post hosted image (slight mod required and FB only)

Where to:

• Facebook
• Twitter

What Platforms:

• iOS
• Android

To use this in your project, simply back up your current project file (good practice) and open up my project too. Select the actor from the inspector window and drag it in to your inspector window of your project and release. This will copy all the rules over. Then open each actor and change the self.attributes that are listed in the notes its simply your text, score attribute and URL. Then place the actor on the scene you wish to use it and add your own art to the button.

Definitely easier than the method in my tutorial then, as you don't have to set up your own Facebook app, but I'd worry about depending on someone else's app ID. Great share, though!

I tested this on one of my existing apps, and it works! However, the Facebook button does not pull up the Facebook app, but rather goes to Safari. If I click on "use embedded browser", then it allows to share with the Facebook app.

Would Apple have a beef using the embedded browser?

I don't think that will be a problem. Just remember that the embedded browser does not work on Android.

Thank you @gingagaming for this, works great for scores and links. However now I'm wanting to tweet text from a table with open URL on Android. Tried changing a self attribute to a table value and various scenarios but didn't get it to work yet. Anybody use this open URL tweet method with tables?

There is no reason why you couldn't do this with some revision. The easiest way using my template would be to change the value of the self.attribute to the Table Cell Value rather than changing the rules.

I have never experimented with Instagram sorry.
