Gamesalad doesn't see provisioning profile

Okay, I've seen this problem before but I haven't seen it adequately explained. I have been following Thunderchilds Complete Guide to iOS and Mac Publishing to the letter and I've hit a road block with the provisioning profiles. I have gone through the development page with apple where you generate your certificates and generate your provisioning profiles and double click them which makes Xcode open and the icon bounces but doesn't do anything else. However, when in the gamesalad publishing area I click to sign my app gamesalad says that it can't find my provisioning profiles. As far as I can tell, when I double clicked those provisioning profiles I downloaded, they should have been installed in Xcode. I'm a total newbie at this, so please be very specific in your answers. Thanks for your help!

You can go into Xcode and check. Preferences. Click your account. You can refresh and they will update.
Make sure you are using the same bundle identifier as provisions.
I had a similar problem.
The Dist and Dev certificates can be seen in Keychain Access. Search Dist or Dev. Normally only one set is acceptable. I had trouble in the past with bad certs.
Your Provisional profiles can be seen in Xcode, Preferences ..., Account tab, Click on your account and then the "View Details ..." button.
The solution for me was to do it all again in the simplest way using the least amount of letters.
Sometimes there is no logical reason why it doesn't work..........
