Xcode extension name

Hey guy! Over the past few weeks, I figured out howchange file types using get info on my mac. Is there and what is the extension name for Xcode.

yea, what exactly are you trying to do? Changing the extension won't allow you to open the GameSalad project in Xcode, they are two very different things. That'd be like trying to put a playstation3 game in an xbox and expecting it to play.

there is no real extension for xcode. Technically the main project file has an .xcodeproj extension, that's only the main file, an entire xcode project will have many many files.

It would help to know exactly what you are trying to do to help you out.

Well once i made my game i changed the file type to zip/exe. I read something a while back that i can put something as an xcode file and sell it. Or just wanna know, if there is a file extension for both mac and pc that will work.

You're missing a few steps in that process, it doesn't work that easily. You've got a game made in gamesalad, that's awesome. The next step is signing up under the Indie or Pro Membership options, without which, your game will never make it onto the iphone.

After you sign up for a membership, you submit your game project (a .game file) to gamesalad. After a few minutes you are given a link to a .zip file which you can download and extract. Inside this zip file is the xcode project. This is a completely different project than the gamesalad project.

After you download your xcode project, you can then use xcode to compile it into a .ipa file and submit it to Apple (after signing up for the $99 developer membership).

So, in short, you yourself can't move your gamesalad game into xcode, you must have a membership and have gamesalad do that for you.

Thanks guys though one of my games is already a zip file and I didn't register but thanks for the help any way!!!!!!!

Yea, just because it's a zip that doesn't mean anything, a zip file is a container that can be used in a thousand different ways. If you didn't register then you don't have a game that you can submit to Apple, there is only one way to do it, and that's outlined in the wiki.

The file extensions can be tricky if you're new to this, but you don't assume you have something just because of the extension, they aren't that important.
