Fake Timer

Hello everyone.
I have seen this discussion.
But I still don't understand how to make a fake timer.
Could anyone give me a example or explain how does he makes a fake timer?(ex: after timer)

    I'm sorry that I didn't say it clearly.
    I mean under the not use any timer behavior, make a timer .

    Timers are much more perfomant than they used to be in 2012. They're are some advantages to using game/self time (60 fps, custom animation controls, etc). But performance isn't much of one currently.

    Yes, the suggestions in that thread (as useful as they were back then) are really not worth the effort you need to put into that system of managing 'timers.'

    I agree with the others, Timers are much improved and the time is saves using the built in behavior makes it worth just using that.
