Anyone here that doesn't live in the US but got the student discount?

Hey GameSalads!
I've tried to get an educational discount as a student of a german university but seemingly this doesn't qualify anymore. A few years ago I got a student discount while being enrolled at exactly the same university.
Since there is no information whatsoever about who's exactly qualified for a student discount I'd be interested if there are more people like me here that aren't living in the US but tried to get a student discount and were rejected or actually got accepted.
