Walking Up/Down Stairs

Any idea how to have SPRITE walk up/down stairs? I'm wondering if I should just make them as a regular platform but with heavier gravity maybe? I would like sprite to be able to jump off the stairs but also not just rush all over them like a gymnast.

I would prefer not to do the Castlevania style climb where he is stuck on the stairs and can only climb up or down slowly and not dismount. Any ideas?
