Hey , I was wondering how you could have a company name Sorta like Utopian Games .. Like Mine has My Name when it says seller in the app store but how would I be able to make my own company name. Do I have to legalize it.

    Yes you do have to legalize it . Like LLC or INC
    Then contact apple and you have to prove then that is you company

    But Do I just make my own name up , and once I make it up do I have To Contact a lawyer

    You get asked what company name you want to use the first time you submit an app...

    Example: I'm registered as Brad Wolff, but my company name shows "BarkBark & Co.", and that is not really a legal entity...

    The problem is you can't change what shows in iTunes once you set it... :-(

    Yes you can change whats showing on itunes, just contact apple by calling them

    I believe to have a company name...you have to upgrade to a corporate license ($300). But before that...you will need an LLC and a Commercial Bank Account.

    In the US...its about $150 to file an LLC with your state. Then your local bank can set you up with a commercial bank account for about $25-30/month.

    Then you have to go through the Apple pro dev account logistics...which takes about a week...which is mostly a corporate background and banking check to authenticate the LLC.

    You really only need to do this if your company makes more than $100K/year in taxable revenue.

    Don't quote me on the specifics (my partner handles this for us) but that is the general gist of it.

    The advantage is the LLC protections...in the event of libel claims against you.

    You don't have to file as a corporation, you can file as a sole proprietor company at your local city hall and get a business license. Apple requires one of several forms as proof of being a commercial business and the business license will suffice. Where I'm based, a business license costs $50 per year.

    There is more to starting a company than just getting a license, however, you really should read up on starting a small business. Your taxes may be affected and there may be legal issues/forms you have to deal with in your area.
