I have an animator that will be working on the animations for my characters that will be placed in my game, the game is a platform type. I need to know does GameSalad require 2D pixel art or will it allow me to use 3D rendered art actors/characters? Basically I want my game to be like the old style NES game but with some 3D elements in it. So I would like to know if GameSalad will be able to handle that.

If you mean 3D models that are rendered as images, then yes.

GameSalad can only do 2D at the moment.

any png file will work. it'll be up to your artistic eye to decide if 3D graphics work in a 2D game aesthetically speaking. I don't see why not.

@ iDeveloper Thanks. So my game would have to be entirely in 2D as of right now? Yes I was talking about 3D models rendered as images.

You can only use .png files for graphics. You cannot use the 3D model data files, but you can certainly export images of the models as .png files and use them in the game.

For background without alpha, you can use .jpg, it won't save your ram, but I think it will save your project size!
