Are GS games displayed letterboxed on iPhoneX? (and Admob banner ads in safe zone)

We still haven't had a GS update to support iPhoneX / admob banner advert placement - and the deadline to update for Admob banner placement is Monday (20th November).

From what I've read online it seems old games are displaying letterboxed on the iPhoneX which could mean it won't be an issue as the new notch area will be within the letterbox.

Does anyone have an iPhoneX and know if this is the case?

I'm wondering whether we should be removing banner ads from all our iOS games before Monday so as not to risk running foul of Admobs terms and conditions!?
