Crashing Freezing any help?

Wondering (because we had 3 straight 1 star reviews) if anyone else has had problems with there games crashing and freezing and if there's anything that can be done to fix it or is it a GS memory leak combined with iOS 4 multi tasking?

We might pull Bumps off the app store until Gendai/Apple sort it out because its bad for our reputation and don't want people playing with these problems.

4.0.2 should fix a lot of the issues. Mostly user error though... these issues have plagued app reviews since the beginning of the app store. Reseting usually suffices but people don't seem to be too clued up!

I was starting to chill out about this but getting 3 in a row is very bad.

We have only had one email and he sent a mail back to say thank you after we sorted him out with the restarting device advice.

Funny my m8 just got an iphone s/h and said to me "i might throw it away it keeps crashing" now hes happy again after i told him what to do.

Guess like you say most people are not clued up and obviously don't read the description of apps (we moved the Freezing help right to the top because of this in our description).

Hi Darren,

I can tell just from playing bumps that you are a perfectionist (in a good way) and the 1* reviews are really bothering you. But taking bumps off the app store could be a really bad business decision. There is no guarantee that it would get noticed as much the second time around (no matter how good it is) and could stay languishing in the 200 sales a week region you had the first week.

Loads of the top games at the moment have a note about resetting devices if they have crashes. I think the problem more lies with apple and iOS 4. I know not all crashes are on ios 4 but those ones seem to happen more often.

As time goes on the balance of reviews will shift more favourably towards the positive end and as polygame says, 4.02 should fix things for some people. Others just simply need a 1.0 upgrade for their brains, which aint gonna happen. A GS update could help us free up a little more memory, if this happens then the updates version reviews would show seperate to the 1.0 version reviews.

Read the first line on the Description for the new Dark Nubula 2.
It says...
"IMPORTANT: If you should experience any trouble running this game, simply restart your device and then run the game again."

If you look at their 1 star comments...they all say "Crashes at start" and similar.

Its not the game...its the OS4 on old 3Gs.

Whatever you do...
DON'T PULL THE APP!!! (or your momentum is toast!)

Cheers Guys, yes i have read some others, Monopoly is also slated...Yeah i mean i would feel a lot better if it was my crappy coding skills that's the problem but when it's out of your hands its hard to swallow.

Hope 4.0.2 is coming soon.

Agreed. It's not the jailbreak per say that will cause a crash, more the !@#$% they install like crappy dash replacements and backgrounder.
