How to use a larger image as the background

I am currently running into a problem where I cannot load my background and have it scroll due to GS saying it is too big. So when I cut it up into smaller chunks and try to have the background recycle it then runs into the problem of there is only certain dimensions it will allow pictures in. Any tips? The background is extremely important to the gameplay so just scrapping it to make a small little background is not optimal in any way.

    @Damianglover1147283 How big is the image? Are you showing it retina (2x or 3x) resolutions? Since it's a background can it be shown as 1x (the image size = the actor size) ? You can do chop or recycle methods but also you might can just show a lower resolution version.

    If it's a pattern, remember you can make a small repeatable design and set the texture in the actor to Tile.
