Anyone having issues with 10.14.5?

3absh3absh Member Posts: 601

I accidentally updated my Mac to 10.14.5 and now am facing issues when I preview my game.

I get the rolling wheel a lot and game becomes unresponsive.

Anyone else facing a similar problem?

My game is quite large at around 200MB

This has been an issue since the release of 10.14.5. I ended up rolling back to High Sierra. Hopefully they get it resolved soon.

Probably best to just ignore 10.14 now and better to prepare it to work properly when 10.15 comes out!

I really wish GS would focus on their M> @Armelline said:

    How do you roll back?

I backed up my computer, wiped the disk, reinstalled High Sierra. I took the time to start fresh and get all the rubbish that build up over time off my system.

I thought I was going crazy, I was freaking out thinking it was my game. The same thing happened to me, updated to 10.14.5 and game bigger than 200Mb. I'll have to roll back as well, do you think GameSalad will make an update anytime soon?

    @geoascencio @abuabed84 @TopicByte

I originally reported the issue on May 15th (and I wasn't the first)
then asked the question below on May 28th and again on June 17th

    This is from june 17th:

Any idea when users on the latest mojave will be able to use GameSalad again?

And why no sticky warning or email to give heads up to paying users who are about to upgrade to the latest mojave? it would have been nice to know that creator is not compatible, just about every other SAS company does this, it's common courtesy.

good idea on the sticky, something should go up soon.
Still working on the Mojave issue

No sticky was ever put up...

@adent42 is trying to fix it and is our best ally, still there seems to be other forces at play, but let's not get into speculation...
Nevertheless, this silence seems to be intentional at this point.....

Meanwhile more paying GS customers are upgrading their OS and falling prey to a broken Engine unbeknownst to them.
This could have been avoided with a simple warning. They knew and chose to say nothing.
    Shame on you GameSalad!

The more time passes by the more I realize it was a huge mistake to put my efforts in this unreliable engine.
Don't get my wrong, I love GS layout and design, but it is extremely unreliable to the point beyond patience.
Waiting a few months every Mac update for the team to sort out the bugs is unacceptable.
    Especially for serious game devs.
Wish I hadn't built my game in this engine.
I'd have to start from scratch in Construct or GM and who knows how long that will take.. -_-

GS team if you are reading this.
Please just focus on making your software bug free, that should be your #1 priority.
Stop wasting your time adding features that no one wants or asks for.
Just focus on making your software work properly with upcoming Mac updates, I'm sure you can handle that with their Beta updates.

RELIABILITY SHOULD BE YOUR #1 FOCUS!
