Custom Collision Animations

I wish we had a way to post a poll question in the forum, but alas.

Question: If you were designing a new platformer, would you spend the time to make your main character/main enemies have custom collision animation shapes?

Seems like a ton of actors to have in game rather than simple animation actors.

If you click on the arrow next to New Discussion, there's an option for a poll:

Unless your main character is oddly shaped, it seems very unnecessary to have custom collision for all animation frames. The body of the character presumably wouldn't change much, mostly his arms and legs.

That is actually a very good point.

A single collision shape with the general outline might serve best, and arms/feet are not "Kill" zones. That way standard animations can be used.
