Code Signing apps for the Mac App Store
Has anyone managed to publish to the Mac App Store recently?
I have no problem for iOS apps but can't seem to manage for MacOS.
I've created a Mac Dev certificate and an app provisioning profile (like you would for iOS) - I download and click on it I get the message saying that provisioning profiles need to be imported within Xcode but I can't find any way to do that. (even from preferences/accounts inside Xcode)
Unless I was creating the app with Xcode and signed it there directly I don't know how you can do it from a GS build... I have 3 Mac apps already published that I haven't updated for a while so I know it used to be possible & wondering if any of you have managed to publish/update to Mac App store recently... or have any tips?
I feel like there must be a simple thing I'm missing but spent the whole day on it yesterday without success...

So I've tried everything I can think of and still no luck. If anyone has managed to publish apps to the Mac App store using xcode 10 or above I'd be really really grateful for any kind of walkthrough... (However basic because I feel like I must be missing something obvious.)
My Mac apps are currently still in 32 bit and no longer compatible so I either need to find a way to update them or will need to remove them.
Hi MusicBoutique did you ever find an answer to the above, as I am running to the same problem.

Nevermind, I solved the problem I was having, I was missing a 3rd party installer certificate.

@Glass Frog no I never solved it... do you mind explaining more about 3rd party installer certificate?
I only had the Mac development certificate and was missing the Developer ID installer certificate that lets you install your app outside of the Mac app store.
Their looks to be a few more certificates needed for mac publishing than iOS, might be worth revisiting the "Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" developer page and checking you have all the correct certificates.

Thanks @Glass Frog - I tried that but still can't seem to sign a mac app... At this point I think I've installed every type of certificate and provisioning profile possible but for some reason have the same issue of 'no mac developer certificate found' when trying to sign...
I'd already resigned myself to give up on the Mac Store versions but hopefully can solve it some time
That's strange, I have just checked and I'm using Xcode V10.3 so I don't think Xcode is your problem. hopefully, you can get it sorted soon. Maybe @adent42 can help.

Thats interesting though... it could actually be something to do with Xcode... I'm on the latest 11.3 - and there have been quite a few changes from Xcode 10 - eg: mac catalyst, no application loader, SwiftUI etc... I think the provisioning profiles might be gathered a bit differently also for MacOS- although I'm massively unqualified to make any reliable comments about that.
I could try an earlier Xcode to see if that helps.
Good luck, hope it fixes the problem for you.
