Merging projects

I have two projects & i need the to be merged into one project.

As i remember there used to be a program that someone made to make this possible. Does anyone remember the name?

With DBA Projects Merge you can merge two projects in one... but unfortunately the softwares not works on Catalina.

You just need to select 2 projects and merge them.

Honestly i don't know if the program is longer available on DBA.

I know that the following can be tedious, but sometimes it's very useful:

You can open 2 projects in 2 instances of GS and copy rules from one actor from project 1 and paste in another actor of project 2

yes but You can drag directly the same actor between projects.

press Alt key and drag the actor between projects; obviously you need to drag the image too

i may have the dba project merger on a hard drive somewhere. it was a free app when it was available, so i don’t think the dba people would mind me sharing it here- if i can dig it up.

here you go. i haven't used it with any versions of GS since a few years ago, so i don't know if it works with newer GS project versions.

just a note, every project has its own purchase table, so each individual project added will also add its own purchase table (ie. if you end up adding thw projects, you'll have two purchase tables, if you then add another project to that one, you'll have three, etc)

Hi @bob loblaw I have been looking for the "DBA Optimizer Projects" but I can't find it.

I don't know if it was a paid or free product, and if it was paid, if the developers would still sell it or if they could release it for personal use, if it still works, is there no way to contact those people?

Hi it works for me on Mojave, but it not merge fonts; anyway it not works on Catalina.

This can be done manually it just takes a little effort. If one of the projects is small, it's probably worth giving it a go manually. If both are big it's probably too much of a headache to be worth it.

Mostly it's just a case of copying over the actor XMLs and adding the right stuff to the object.xml. There's changes needed in the assets.xml potentially too, and table if you're using those.

Personally I'd just recreate one inside the other though, rather than trying to merge two files. And if you do use the merger tool, keep in mind it was made before IAPs and you'll end up with two PurchaseTables, one of which will need removing (unless they updated it).
