GameSalad creator 1.25.103 overscan iPad size problem

izamizam Member, PRO Posts: 503

Hi. There is a problem when I preview the game on GameSalad creator and select the iPad size and switch to overscan. It stretches instead of overscan. The letterbox option also doesn't do letterboxing. It still just stretches.

when I compile and test on iPad, the overscan is ok.

Can someone fix this? It's very difficult to work on an iPad version to universalise the app but overscanning doesn't work on the game creator.

Is there even a workaround for this?

I'm not seeing the issue, so it may be OS dependent. Could you PM me your OS version device model (Mac / Macbook, year, etc). Thanks!

Your video ends just before Overscan is enabled. I will note though that I have seen this problem too.

I still need to look into it, but I did notice something. If I resize, it pops back to stretch. So if I set it to something else then back to overscan, it corrects itself. Hopefully that helps while we look into it.

Just realized another variable that might affect things. Does your mac have a retina / hdpi display?

hi @adent42 thanks for looking into it. I'm not using a studio display, just a normal 1080p BenQ monitor together with the Mac studio m1 max.

hi @adent42 I tried that but it did nothing. There is still no overscan done for the iPad size.
