Can't install on 1st Gen Ipod

iTunes is telling me that it cannot instal my game on my 1st gen iPod touch because the version needs to be upgraded, but I am on the latest version available for 1st gen ipod touch 2.2.1

    The last firmware was 3.1.3 (for 1st Gen touch), plug it into your computer, boot up itunes and hit update.

    Did that but it would not give me the update. It would say I was on the latest version.

    I just updated my iPhone 2G - the oldest iDevice - to iOS 3.1.3 and it worked fine.

    I believe that you need to pay for iOS 3 for 1st gen iPod Touches? I'm not sure. I thought it was like 5$ or something.

    I tried and tried to look for it but I couldn't find a way to pay for it, through itunes. So I had to do it the other way. Anyways all work now. BTW it was not the jailbroken iphone that crashed. The ipod touch crashes too. I am looking into the audio thing that you mentioned @firemaplegames.

    On the other hand the game works much, much better on the ipod touch 1st gen then on the jailbroken iphone 3g. Probably more memory available.
