Every year new works enter the public domain, which means you are free to derive your very own works from these IPs! Build adventure games from books, use movies for cut scenes, create your own versions of newly public domain music!

Some notable examples:

• The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett (better known for the movie adaptation which is NOT in the public domain yet)
• The Little Engine That Could ("You think you can, you think you can")
• Disney shorts created in 1930. Now you can pair a proto Pluto with your Steamboat Willy!
• A number of songs including the orignal Georgia on My Mind, I Got Rhythm, and Dream A Little Dream of Me. I think these are the songs, not records, but now you can make your own versions of said songs with no licensing fees!
• Movies like All Quiet On The Western Front, Howard Hughe's Hell's Angels, and the Marx Brother's Animal Crackers.
