Hey guys,
I am working on a new project and was wondering which icon you like more. These icons are not final, they will probably get tweeked a bit more, but just wanted to show you the styles of the two and which you would prefer I use

1st one:
2nd one:
Comments
I would still appreciate some more comments
I just wanted to see roughly which icon style you guys would prefer
One suggestion. Spend more time on the eyes. One of the things that makes the Bumps icon so effective is the details in the eyes. They really draw you in. The reason I ask about photoshop is that I would put the eyes on their own layer and use a soft beveling layer effect to give them a bit of a 3D shiny feel.
If the eyes were improved the first icon may work better. As it is the second is better.

Lets see how they look on an actual iphone
#1
#2
If I saw #1, I may not be inclined to look at the game, but #2 with the background had me intrigued as to what the game was about before even knowing about it...
And I like with #2 that you removed the road, and made the background less busy
And I also think the reason why people may not like #2 is the shape of the head.... maybe make it a bit different.... rounder? More cartoony with Bigger eyes?
I think the eyes are too small on the character, otherwise #2 FOR SURE

But maybe the face needs a little more refinement.
I recommend increasing the "cute" factor a bit and improve on the eyes....as they seem a bit "dead" and "zombie-like" and need to be more inviting. Try adding a white pie-slice to them at the 2 o-clock position and make them bigger. Also add whiskers to increase the cuteness factor. Maybe add the tip of a tongue as well.
I also recommend making the ears a bit less pointy and a bit bigger and slightly oval-esque or egg-shaped.
BTW I like the last one.
Just to let you know, the black background doesn't really prevent anyone from using the icon. 2 clicks in photoshop will get rid of that no problem. I would suggest using a watermark next time.
@MDearworth, I'm not too worried about anyone stealing it because I don't expect anyone here to do something like that
