iOS4 multi-task, GS, battery drain??

Woke up to a dead iphone. Battery drain.
When I double clicked and brought the fast access menu I saw that I still had the GS viewer on. I had been testing my game earlier. Does anyone know if having GS on in the background would drain the battery?
Other apps on= camera app,facebook, appstore. No other games were on.

    Doesn't the viewer generally drain the battery because of all the wireless network activity?

    You mean the wireless connection between my laptop with GS on it, and the iPhone? Don't know about that, but my laptop had been closed and in sleep mode. When I went to bed last night I had about 3/4 charge on the phone.
