Make a Display actor that disappears on the edges of Y-axis

Hi folks,
I've been trying to do this and failing. Any idea how to make the edge of an actor start to gradually disappear? As in I have an actor that cover the height of the y-axis on my screen and I would like it to beginning disappearing. The actor is display text. Any ideas?
