GameSalad supports custom fonts now, so you can probably do this using logic and save both time and money.

Go into system settings and turn off your fire wall if it is on. If you're behind a router you don't need a fire wall anyway.

You can't they switched creator to a custom font system. It has nothing to do with El Capitan. You can now import any font you want into gamesalad.
