yes, you can use quicktime to record directly from any lighting cable attached device, i think it requires iOS8+, Yosemite and Xcode6

This and all of the other bugs and features that have been requested for so long is why I think you can't sell GameSalad as a whole package to everyone. It didn't seem unreasonable when you're paying
