iPad - 4:3

I tested on both iPod Touch 2nd Gen and iPad 2 to make sure it wasn't memory issues, but it didn't work on either so its definitely a GS issue.

No, images come at the sizes you want on the iPad. There is no retina display (yet?...) on the iPad so Resolution Independence is not relevant.

I have to agree. I was thinking myself how close they already are when I can test my iphone games on my iPad...

Universal apps tend to die off the charts more slowly or not at all. The combined sales of iPhone and iPad apps help keep them afloat.
